Porcellanite Stone tool

Porcellanite Stone tool

Porcellanite is a pretty rare stone highly valued by our predecessors for its hardness and suitablitiy for stone axes. Axes were normally highly polished which clearly this isn't though it has a shaped cutting edge which looks well used. I think it is a fragment of something larger. Originally from Rathlin Island.
